This article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of package transportation, using economic criteria and principles of logistics. The scopes of application of pallets for transportation of fruit and vegetable products on the basis of specific technical and economic indicators are determined. The dependences of the cost of 1 t-km transportation of fruits and vegetables on the distance and the size of the transport batch are determined. The expenses for loading and unloading cargo from a refrigerated wagon were calculated for 1 ton and for the entire transport consignment.
