MAQOLA ANNOTATSIYASI

This article is devoted to the reform of the Latin alphabet based on the Uzbek language, which is currently on the forefront of the general public of Uzbekistan, and especially in the media, science and education spheres. Following a brief overview of the different writing systems used in the world's languages, the article pinpoints the principles behind the need for alphabetic reform within a small quantitative empirical study. The results of the survey are analyzed, summarized and applied to the context of the impending alphabet reforms. The newly proposed letters are critically analyzed and synthesized on the basis of the identified principles. Towards the conclusion of the article, alternative regulatory proposals are presented taking into consideration all the identified principles for the planned alphabet reform.
