The article discusses passive and active equilibrium methods for charging and discharging lead-acid stationary batteries with a group serial connection with the same voltage. Charging batteries in an active and passive way also provides wiring diagrams for voltage and temperature sensors connected to batteries. The charging process model has been tested in Matlab Simulink. The advantages and disadvantages of charging batteries in both passive and active ways are analyzed. The change in the electrical parameters of batteries after the period of their operation is analyzed. When comparing the charging processes in an active and passive way, aspects of optimizing their charging modes are studied. This article presents the simulation results of the Matlab Simulink program to increase the service life of group batteries by providing them with a balanced voltage. The issues of achieving resource saving with balanced charging of batteries and their energy efficiency are reflected.
