Ushbu maqolada zamonaviy ta’lim tizimida hayot davomida o‘rganish (Life Long Learning) konsepsiyasi asosida talabalarda mustaqil ta’lim olish ko‘nikmalarini rivojlantirishning nazariy asoslari va amaliy jihatlari yoritiladi. Mustaqil ta’lim olish ko‘nikmalari – shaxsning o‘z bilimlarini mustaqil ravishda rejalashtirish, tashkil etish, baholash va rivojlantirish jarayonidagi asosiy kompetensiyalardan biri sifatida talqin etiladi. Maqolada umr bo‘yi ta’lim oluvchi shaxs modelini shakllantirish jarayonida mustaqil ta’lim ko‘nikmalarining o‘rni, ularning rivojlanish bosqichlari hamda ta’lim jarayonida qo‘llaniladigan samarali metodlar va vositalar haqida so‘z yuritiladi. Shuningdek, hayot davomida o‘rganish tushunchasi, uning mazmun-mohiyati, tarixiy bosqichlari, qonunchilikdagi o‘ziga xos jihatlari hamda zamonaviy ta’lim jarayonidagi o‘rni, oliy ta’lim tizimida mustaqil ta’limni tashkil etishning zamonaviy tendensiyalari va xorijiy tajriba misolida tahlil qilinadi.
