Platina hosilalari, xususan uning xloridlari, noorganik kimyoda kataliz, kompleks birikmalar kimyosida kompleks hosil qiluvchi sifatida shuningdek, elektrokimyo va materialshunoslikda ham muhim ahamiyatga ega. Platinaning asosiy oksidlanish darajalari – Pt(0), Pt(II) va Pt(IV) hisoblanib, turli muvozanatlar, ligand almashinuv reaksiyalari va oksidlanish-qaytarilish jarayonlari orqali o‘zaro almashinadi. Ushbu maqolada platina (II) xlorid (PtCl₂/[PtCl₄]²⁻) va platina (IV) xlorid (PtCl₄/[PtCl₆]²⁻) birikmalarining kimyoviy xossalari, hosil qiladigan ayrim kompleks birikmalari hamda platina ionlarining Pt(II) valentli holatidan Pt(IV) valentli holatiga o‘tish bosqichlari yoritilgan.
