Ishda mashina ko‘rishi texnologiyalari va uch o‘lchamli geometrik ma’lumotlarni qayta ishlashga asoslangan silindrik tishli g‘ildiraklarning evolventali profilini nazorat qilishning yangi usuli taqdim etilgan. Tadqiqotning dolzarbligi mavjud yondashuvlarda (koordinata-o‘lchov mashinalari, optik va qiyosiy usullar) o‘lchashlarning yuqori aniqligi, tezligi va narxi o‘rtasidagi ziddiyatni bartaraf etish zarurati bilan izohlanadi. Tadqiqotning maqsadi ixtisoslashtirilgan tish o‘lchash uskunalari va etalon CAD modellarini talab qilmaydigan, qulay, yetarlicha aniq va avtomatlashtirilgan nazorat usulini ishlab chiqishdan iborat.
