It was established that pre-cutting of seed tubers in the first year of use contributes to an increase in the coefficient of reproduction of healthy tubers by 11–48%, depending on the variety. However, with the repeated use of this technique, starting from the second generation of cut tubers, the infection of seed potatoes with viruses increases, which leads to a decrease in the productivity of the material improved by the method of apical meristem.
