Abstract the article considers and analyzes the theoretical issues of diversification of the agricultural market. Necessity of transition to the diversified activity in farms is proved. Given the position of the author diversification of production should serve as a tool for cross-sectoral overflow of excess capital generated from operations. Cases of application of diversification in the conditions of market economy are proved. Recommendations on the construction of the principles of diversification of farms taking into account the characteristics of the industry, as well as the market economy.
