In work the questions of optimization of modes of electric power systems are investigated. The method of solving problems using genetic algorithms is considered. The results of calculated-experimental researches are given. The calculations of the optimal coverage of the load schedule of the power system between thermal power plants by the traditional method and the genetic algorithm are performed. The comparative analysis of efficiency of the proposed algorithm is given.
