The article discusses the principles of comparing the syntactic units of languages in the context of contrastive linguistics. Structural schemes of vocabulary, simple sentences and joint sentences are taken as a basis. Special attention is also paid to the separation of monopredicative and polypredicative structures as semantic standards.
