Clinical and epidemiological studies (Alaev et al., 1983) showed that residents of the Samarkand region suffered from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in those years, since they spoke of the absence of the disease. We set ourselves the goal of how to study the features of the clinic, the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis in the Samarkand region, as well as give a comparative description with respect to the above criteria, both today and relatively in the 1980-90s. All patients examined by us were examined in the neurological departments according to a specially compiled registration (MS registry developed and proposed by the chief neurologist of the republic, MD, professor Y.N. Majidova). The method of descriptive epidemiology was used, as well as elements of analytical epidemiology.
