Hyperbilirubinemia of newborns is dangerous by the development of nuclear jaundice (hyperbilirubin encephalopathy), due to the fact that unconjugated bilirubin freely passes through the blood-brain barrier, leading to the destruction of nerve cells, which leads to the development of neurological disorders in a newborn child and form irreversible complications in the form of childhood ... Therefore, timely detection and treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is very important and requires careful monitoring and appropriate preparation.
