At present, in medicine, there are great opportunities for building automated systems for supporting clinical decision making, detecting medical errors, responding to complex clinical requests, generating multidimensional patient statistics, etc. The solution to this problem is the unified language of medical systems (Unified Medical Language System or UMLS) to create a universal directory of medical knowledge in the broadest possible sense using the most effective methods created in the field of computer processing of knowledge. An important direction in the implementation of the UMLS strategy is the solution of the problem of transforming clinical phrases into a structured presentation, on which the attention of the published article is focused. The most widely used tool for solving this problem is the systematized machine-processed medical nomenclature SNOMED CT.
