The article shows the correlation of indicators of the water regime of I. helenium and I. salicina, which reflects the features of which species can adapt in arid conditions. This, in turn, proves that the growth and development of plants belonging to the ecological group of mesophytes, even in conditions of water scarcity, belongs to the group of xeromesophytes of the mesophytic type of this species.
