the article reveals the reasons for the appearance of the ecology account. Its essence is considered and its object and subject are illuminated. Also, the problematic areas of the current account of ecology are studied. The role of international organizations in the formation of environmental accounting is revealed. Foreign experience on the account of ecology is described in detail. By the author, ecology accounting is defined as the independent direction of accounting of economic entities. A comparative description of the financial, management, tax and ecology account is given. As a result of comparing the characteristics of financial, management, tax and environmental accounting described in the economic literature, ecology is defined as the purpose of the account. Detailed information on the content and importance and necessity of the ecology report is provided
