The translation of classic works is extremely complicated and crucial. The study of the heritage of our ancestors, and their application to the real life is more important than to discover new methods in science, since the creativity and ideas of the intellectuals may truly be considered a life lesson for younger generation. The original style and lexicon of Boburnoma have been a source of study for many researchers. The following paper examines the military terminology of “takalluf” (formality) based on several examples. They have been analyzed in a comparative plan in the English translations of John Leiden – William Erkin (1826), Anetta Susanna Beverage (1921) and Viler Texton (1996). The semantic diversity of the “takalluf” in Baburnoma and its seme as a military term were illustrated on particular examples.
