This article offers a theoretical analysis of tolerance in multicultural societies. It also explores approaches to the history of the formation of the concept of tolerance to the present-day from the point of such social sciences as psychology, philosophy, sociology, political science and culture. The great progress of each country and its prestige in the international community is directly related to the principles of tolerance, interethnic friendship and harmony. The values ​​such as patriotism, humanism, tolerance and kindness that have been shaped in our country for centuries have played an important role in the history of our people. In particular, values ​​aimed at establishing a culture of tolerance in the spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people have deep historical roots. The issue of tolerance is not only the subject of studies but it is also discussed in international documents. The adoption of the Declaration of Principles of Tolerance by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on November 16, 1995 is a good example of this fact. This declaration also focuses on freedom of conscience and religion. In Article 1, tolerance is defined as the richness and diversity of the culture of the world we live in, the respect for the forms and methods of the manifestation of human personality, and the freedom of conscience and religion. November 16 is recognized as the International Day of Tolerance and is celebrated worldwide. At the same time, the article also outlines the essence and short history of multiculturalism. Tolerance has become one of the topics of public research in many sources in the context of multicultural societies. This article analyzes these issues on the example of internet sites as uza.uz, kun.uz, ich.uz, interkomitet.uz, cisc.uz.
