THE ROLE OF THE SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION IN RESOLVING THE AFGHAN PROBLEM

The relevance of the attached scientific material is due to the fact that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has now become a promising platform on a regional scale, where dialogue can be carried out between member states to establish constructive cooperation with states and international organizations in order to respond to security challenges in a timely manner. In this regard, the activities of the SCO are of particular importance in light of the complex and difficult to predict internal political and military situation in Afghanistan as a result of the withdrawal of US and NATO troops from there, as well as the establishment of Taliban power in the country. It appears that the SCO has a certain political, economic and diplomatic potential, the use of which will help resolve the crisis situation not only in Afghanistan, but also neutralize challenges to security and stability in the regions of Central and South Asia.
