This article addresses the issues of improving the professional performance indicators of professors and teachers in the higher education system. It analyzes ways to enhance the effectiveness of pedagogical activities based on modern educational requirements, improve the system of professional development, and implement innovative approaches. The article also presents scientifically grounded opinions on the criteria for assessing teachers’ professional competence and strategies for its development. It substantiates the crucial role of professors and teachers in improving the quality of higher education and emphasizes the importance of the continuous advancement of their professional activities. Today, the rapid development of educational processes requires in-depth study of pedagogical skills, the ability to conduct scientific research, and the skills of effective use of innovative technologies. This article develops practical proposals and recommendations for improving the professional performance of professors and teachers in the higher education system.
