The article covers the history of internet linguistics formation in Uzbek linguistics, its research object, and current problems. It is scientifically and theoretically analyzed that in the 21st century, the development of information technologies, the popularization of the global Internet, and the penetration of artificial intelligence into the life of society have led to the need to re-examine some of the views and "language laws" put forward in traditional linguistics, which was necessitated by the progress of such leading areas of anthropocentric linguistics as linguoculturology, psycholinguistics, associative linguistics, pragmalinguistics, sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, and sociopragmatics.
