ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
This article examines the lack of a comprehensive model for assessing the benefits of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), considering their diverse priorities and goals. We propose a flexible model that integrates digital performance measures with sustainability metrics, aligned with the triple bottom line (TBL) framework, to assess the economic, social, and environmental impacts of digital transformation on SMEs. Using SME data and hierarchical clustering, we identify groups of companies with similar operational realities, resources, and goals, where clusters allow for adaptability of the model. Thus, the proposed model measures the impact of I4.0 on economic, social, and environmental aspects, providing a structured approach to prioritizing digital transformation initiatives.
