DESIGNING SUITABLE TEACHING MATERIALS OF MAJOR CONCERNS IN TEACHING ENGLISH

This article considered designing appropriate teaching materials as the ma-jor concern in teaching English. In this article the author stated that teaching materials, espe-cially in the form of course books, even though they are one of the main and most important fea-tures of most ELT classrooms, have hardly been ‘on the map’ at all in terms of applied lingguis-tics until relatively recently. This is because they have traditionally been viewed with suspicion from an academic point of view.
