Chimbay is one of the well-known and ancient cities of Karakalpakstan. It differs from other cities of the country with its natural and geographical arrangement and rich toponymic materials. This article deals with the Chimbay district toponyms, about the origin of the name “Chimbay” and gives the information about the area.
