The role of grammar in the process of teaching foreign languages in the example of syntactic constructions is discussed in the article. The attention is paid to teaching grammar using new methods, instead of grammar translation method. The author of the article emphasizes the importance of skill of analyzing a text together with its translation on the example of syntactic constructions, i.e. sentences.
