Objective: To determinate peculiarities of diagnostic and differentiated treatment of pain syndrome, developed on the pathological mediopatellar plica of the knee in athletes. Material and methods: The experience of treatment of 1260 patients is considered. 244 patients were with pathological mediopathellar plica of the knee. In these patients, in the absence of efficacy of conservative treatment, specific clinical symptoms, unconvincing sonography and MRI data, the diagnostic role of arthroscopy is important. The treatment tactics of the protocol included conservative and operational methods. Results: In 1016 (80.6%) patients, carried therapy led to recovery without surgical metjods of treatment. 244 (19.4%) patients were operated on the inefficiency of conservative treatment and recurrence of disease. General complications (recurrence of synovitis, hemarthrosis) were noted in 18% of cases. Satisfactory results were achieved in 82% of the patient. Conclusion: Among the methods for diagnostic of causes of pain in the knee MRI and arthroscopy are the most informative. A differentiated approach to the treatment of this pathology using conservative therapy and surgical arthroscopy provides 90% of good and satisfactory results.
