At land container terminals, various types of containers are reloaded from railway rolling stock to road transport using various lifting machinery. Container terminals are an important component in supply chains and serve to convert container flows. This article provides a brief analysis of research in the field of container handling. It also provides the most common options for the location of the technological sections of the terminal, equipped with a rail mounted gantry cranes.
