The article focuses on the analysis of the communicative approach in teaching English, which is oriented towards the development of real communication and interaction skills. It explores the fundamental principles of this approach, such as the emphasis on practical language use in real situations and the consideration of cultural and contextual aspects. The article highlights the key advantages of the communicative approach, including increased student motivation, improved ability to adapt to various situations, and flexibility in applying teaching methods. Alongside this, the challenges associated with the implementation of this approach are discussed, such as difficulties in assessing progress, the need for qualified teachers, and material adaptation. Methods and strategies for overcoming these challenges are proposed, including the use of various assessment forms and the integration of grammar and vocabulary into communicative exercises. Examples of successful application of the communicative approach in teaching practice are provided. The article aims to identify the key aspects and issues related to the implementation of the communicative approach, as well as to offer recommendations for its effective application in English language teaching
