 Social science research ethics has been receiving increased attention over the past years, especially concerning the rights of human subjects who must be protected and to whom no harm should be caused in the process of research. This article explores what ethical regulations currently guide social science research in Uzbekistan. Specifically, the research investigates whether there are any effective, ethical standards, international or locally produced, guiding social science research with human subjects. The article also elaborates on historical and contextual factors that shaped the current state of research ethics within the country; it discusses various challenges and cultural specificities associated with applying ethical procedures in a developing context like Uzbekistan.

Этике исследований в области социальных наук в последние годы уделяется повышенное внимание, особенно в отношении прав людей, которые должны быть защищены и которым не должен быть причинен вред в процессе исследования. В данной статье рассматривается, какие этические нормы в настоящее время регулируют исследования в области социальных наук в Узбекистане. В частности, исследование выясняет, существуют ли какие-либо эффективные этические стандарты, международные или местные, которые определяют социальные научные исследования с участием людей. В статье также подробно рассматриваются различные вопросы, связанные с применением этических процедур в таком развивающемся контексте, как Узбекистан.
