This article examines the strategic role of international industry advisory boards in improving the position of universities in world rankings. The study was conducted on the example of the German-Uzbek Industry Advisory Board established at the New Uzbekistan University. The results of the analysis of documents and comparison of management models showed that such boards have a positive impact on the ranking indicators in several areas at once. In particular, industrial income, scientific efficiency, international reputation and graduate employment indicators are significantly improved. The results of the study confirm that such an approach is a cost-effective strategy for developing universities, allowing them to move up 100-150 places in the rankings within 3-5 years.
