В статье проанализированы составляющие части профиля кулачков распределительного вала двигателя внутреннего сгорания Д-240 и требования, поставленные на пару трения, состоящую из профиля кулачка и гильзы толкателя. Изучены размеры составляющих частей профиля впускных и выпускных кулачков, а также отдельные их особенности. Разработана методика расчета ширины и площади контакта, степени проскальзывания, а также скорости изнашивания профиля впускных и выпускных кулачков, работающих в смазочной среде, учитывающих показатели шероховатости и толщины масляной пленки в зоне контакта пары трения. Полученые аналитические зависимости позволяют определять влияние нормальной нагрузки на скорость изнашивания профилей кулачков, угловой скорости, степени проскальзывания, ширину контакта, предел текучести материала.
