Ushbu ishning asosiy maqsadi iqlim o‘zgarishida Markaziy Osiyo suv manbaalarining hozirgi ahvolini o‘rganish va jarayonlar rivoji moyilligini aniqlash. Markaziy Osiyodagi suv manbaalari va ularni global iqlim o‘zgarishi ta'siriga barqarorligini bashoratlash o‘rganilindi. Markaziy Osiyo hududida joylashgan hozirgi transchegaraviy daryolari, ko‘llar va muzliklar ahvoli geoaxborot ma'lumotlari yordamida o‘rganilindi. Olimlar va mutahassislarning konseptual rivojlanish zamonaviy bashoratlashi shuni ko‘rsatadiki, iqlimning jadal isishi Markaziy Osiyoning hamma erida kuzatilmoqda. Olingan hisob-kitoblar shuni ko‘rsatadiki, 2050 yilgacha Amudaryo havzasiga tushadigan suv hajmi 10-15% qisqaradi va Sirdaryo havzasiga 6-10% ga qisqaradi.
