quote
This study looks at the serious problem of plastic waste causing pollution around the world. It focuses on how little polystyrene foam gets recycled. As a better option, the study checks out making and describing composite stuff made from wood waste, like poplar and paulownia sawdust. These natural fillings have cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, which let them stick well to plastic polymers like polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The composite materials were made using hot pressing. They were tested to see how dense, hard, strong, and impact-resistant they were, using GOST standards. The tests showed that adding up to 40% wood makes the stuff stronger and harder. But if you add too much wood, it may not work as well because there's not enough plastic. Paulownia waste made the composites light and good at keeping heat out, while poplar waste made the stuff denser. The findings suggest that wood-based composites could be cheap and eco-friendly materials for factories and construction. More work should be done to improve binder recipes and make them safer for the environment.
