Predestinatsiya tushunchasi xristian ilohiyotining eng muhim va murakkab masalalaridan biri bo‘lib, inson taqdiri, irodasi hamda Xudoning mutlaq irodasi o‘rtasidagi munosabatni ifodalaydi. Ushbu ta’limotning asosida Xudoning oldindan bilishi va insonning najot yoki halokat yo‘lidagi holati haqidagi g‘oyalar yotadi. Predestinatsiya nasroniylikda Xudoning adolati, rahmati va inson erkin tanlovini tushuntirishga qaratilgan ilohiy konsepsiya sifatida shakllangan. U cherkov tarixida turlicha talqin etilgan bo‘lsa-da, uning markazida Xudoning inson hayoti ustidan suveren hukmronligi va najot rejasining abadiyligi haqidagi e’tiqod yotadi.
