ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
A differentiated approach to the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease and its complications, depending on the genetic predisposition of a particular patient, remains an urgent problem among cardiovascular pathologies. Conducted in this framework, studies allow more accurate and reliable assessment of the genetic risk of disease and predict its course. Commonly accepted indications for the analysis of polymorphisms of the PAI 1 gene are: myocardial infarction, family history of myocardial infarction, coronary artery / heart disease, obesity, and others. A large number of studies have proven that PAI–1 plays an important role in determining the location of cardiovascular diseases. PAI – 1 provides up to 60 % of the total inhibitory activity against plasminogen activator in plasma, playing an important role in the regulation of fibrinolysis. PAI – 1 is associated with an increased risk of thrombotic complications. In continuation of research in this area, the prevalence of plasminogen activator type I inhibitor (PAI–1) was studied. The following frequencies of alleles and genotypes of the G5 / G4 polymorphism of the PAI gene were found in our group of patients: 5G / 5G in the main and control groups – 39.4 % and 37.5 % (χ2 = 0.189); 5G / 4G – 39.4 % and 55 % (χ2 = 0.547); 4G / 4G 21.2 % and 7.5 % (χ2 = 0.395), p = 0.2874. Research is continued today.
