The choice of optimal pit contours is very important when mining mineral deposits, since the volume of industrial mineral reserves and the volume of overburden rocks in the quarry depend on them, which determine the productivity and lifetime of the quarry. The contours of the quarry affect the choice of the opening method, the location of trenches and the location of surface structures, transport communications, etc. A significant reserve for increasing the efficiency of the use of mineral raw materials is the transition to the development of reserves of complex mineral deposits. This will make it possible to expand the mineral resource base without additional capital investments in the development of new deposits, make fuller use of the production funds of mining enterprises, and will also lead to an improvement in the environmental situation in the areas of extraction and processing of raw materials, which fully corresponds to the tasks of intensification of production and saving resources.
