This article describes modern approaches to media education and its theoretical and methodological foundations. Media education occupies an important place in the educational process due to the large flow of information in modern society. The goal of media education is to teach students to understand media culture, critically analyze information and work with its various forms. Through media culture works, students develop creative and critical thinking, which helps them in the future to make independent and informed decisions when working with information. The article analyzes the main methods used in the educational process: illustrative, heuristic and research methods of explanation. With the help of these methods, students deeply analyze media texts, actively participate in creative tasks, and develop critical thinking. The article also examines the role of interactive educational technologies in media education, their importance in interaction with the audience. Discussions in the article are aimed at fully covering the theoretical and practical aspects of media education.
