The article presents the potential for using the skin of the African catfish (Clarias gariepinus), farmed in artificial ponds in the Namangan region, as a raw material for the leather industry. The processing of the hide into leather is organized as a three-stage technological chain, the conditions and parameters of which are described in the paper. The selected processing regimes took into account the delicate structure of fish collagen; therefore, the rinses performed after most wet operations were aimed at ensuring uniform penetration of reagents and preserving the merea. The results indicate local potential for obtaining additional products from by-products, reducing waste, and aligning with the principles of the circular bioeconomy
