ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
Abstract. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the scientific and technical foundations as well as the practical efficiency of implementing agrophotovoltaic (agrivoltaic) systems in the arid and semi-arid climatic conditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study addresses the pressing issues of water scarcity, efficient land use, and the integration of agriculture with renewable energy sources. The research methodology includes the analysis of scientific literature, comparative studies of international experience, and evaluation of pilot agrophotovoltaic projects implemented in Uzbekistan. Based on this, the interconnection within the Water–Energy–Food Nexus framework was assessed. The results indicate that agrophotovoltaic systems improve microclimatic conditions, help preserve soil moisture, reduce evaporation, and stabilize crop yields while simultaneously enabling additional electricity generation. The discussion highlights the prospects of implementing this technology in desert and oasis regions of Uzbekistan in terms of efficient water resource management and ensuring energy sustainability.
