ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
In this study, the sensitivity and minimum water discharge of the “Smart Channel” device, designed for measuring flow in open channels, were experimentally evaluated. The relevance of the research is justified by the need for rational water resource management in irrigation systems, accurate water accounting, and reliable detection of low discharges. The experiments were conducted in the “Hydraulics and Hydrometry” laboratory of “Smart Solution System” LLC, located in the Kuyichirchik district of the Tashkent region. A 60×60 sm prototype of the “Smart Channel” device was selected as the research object. The operating principle of the device is based on the velocity–area method, where discharge is determined using the average flow velocity and the cross-sectional area. The experimental results showed that for the 60×60 sm “Smart Channel” device, the average sensitivity threshold is 0.45 sm/s, while the minimum recorded discharge is 0.269 L/s. The measurement accuracy of the device was evaluated by comparison with a reference electromagnetic flow meter and the volumetric method. According to the results, the error of the “Smart Channel” device ranged from +2.47% to -2.48% relative to the reference flow meter, and from +2.43% to -2.47% relative to the volumetric method. The obtained results confirm that the “Smart Channel” device can be effectively applied for measuring low discharges and maintaining water accounting in open channels. The findings provide a scientific basis for determining the minimum measurable discharge, defining the sensitivity threshold, and improving calibration methodologies.
