The article explores the phenomenon of the "dead mix" – a phonogram that, despite fully complying with technical standards (calibrated frequency balance, absence of phase issues, ideal dynamics), fails to evoke an emotional response from the listener. Drawing on pedagogical and studio practice, the author analyzes the causes of excessive digital sterility in modern music sound engineering. The paper examines the negative consequences of overusing automatic correction tools (Grid, Auto-Tune, hard clipping) and proposes practical methods for preserving the "live" character of a musical work through micro-dynamics management, psychoacoustic effects, and controlled chaos.
