ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The article examines the flourishing period of the Hanafi school of fiqh in Transoxiana during the 11th century, under the rule of the Qarakhanid dynasty. It analyzes the reasons for the dominance of the Hanafi madhhab, its role in the socio-political life of the region, and its ability to adapt to local customs. Special attention is given to intellectual centers such as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Nasaf, and to key figures of the time, including Abu'l-Yusr al-Pazdawi and Abu'l-Mu'in al-Nasafi, who played a decisive role in the systematization of Maturidi kalam. The dynamic environment of legal and theological discussions is also explored, particularly the polemics with the Shafi'i madhhab and the further codification of practical jurisprudence norms.
