The article discusses the adsorption methods of desulfurization based on the ability of hydrogen sulfide to be sorbed on the surface of solids.

There are two main desulfurization methods, depending on the absorber used - these are adsorption processes based on the extraction of gas components with solid absorbents - adsorbents and absorption processes in which the extraction of acidic components is carried out by liquid absorbents.

The choice of the process for purifying natural gas from sulfur compounds depends on many factors, the main of which are: the composition and parameters of the feed gas, the required degree of purification and the area of use of commercial gas, the availability and parameters of energy resources, production waste, etc.

In connection with the introduction of a new standard for gas quality, it is necessary to bring gas quality up to the requirements of the state standard O'z DSt 948 for the content of hydrogen sulfide (no more than 5 mg/m3) and mercaptans (no more than 15 mg/m3).

To ensure the required quality characteristics of the gas, it is planned to purify it from hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans.

The 13X molecular sieve was modified with copper ions, after which the molecular sieve acquired such properties as high sulfur capacity, easy regeneration, low cost, high efficiency of mercaptan adsorption.
