The article discusses the results of a study of the optical properties of coatings with rare-earth elements of the optical materials. The process of photoluminescence is shown using lithium niobate as an example. Photoluminescence spectra for silicon samples are presented, as well as a photoluminescence intensity spectrum depending on wavelength for silicate soda glass samples implanted with erbium ions. The dependence of photoluminescence intensity and lifetime is shown for samples of polycrystalline films used in optical waveguides. The studies of the intensity and lifetime of photoluminescence doped with rare-earth elements of optical materials are carried out.
