Proper geological and economic assessment of ore dilution and loss is important both in the feasibility study of the mining design process and during mining operations. Production capacity and profitability of the mine directly depend on the indicators of loss and dilution of ore, and are one of the main factors in assessing the prospects for the development of a mining enterprise. This, in turn, increases the significance of the indicators of dilution and loss of ore, the normalization of which is an urgent matter and requires in-depth research and research. Depending on the mining method, which is used in the process of underground mining of mineral deposits, the index of ore dilution varies. Ensuring the completeness and quality of the use of mineral resources is the main factor that causes an increase in the annual productivity of the mining enterprise, an increase in industrial reserves. The complexity of the mine structure, the instability of the ore and enclosing rocks, difficult hydro-geological conditions adversely affect the productivity of mining, causes the dilution of the ore to increase to 35-40%, and the ore loss to 25%. Millions of dollars are invested each year in mining enterprises around the world to eliminate the consequences of damage of ore dilution and loss. The article discusses the types of ore dilution during underground mining of mineral deposits and the main factors leading to it, as well as the degree and consequences of the impact of ore dilution on the economy of a mining enterprise
