This article describes the requirements for engineering and geological prospecting
in the projecting and construction of buildings and structures, methods to increase their efficiency,
determination of physical and mechanical properties of soils with high humidity in accordance with
the requirements of regulatory documents, opinions about aerial photography which are
expressed. Inappropriate use of water resources in arid regions of the world has led to soil
salinization, which has a significant negative impact on the economy of countries and attracts the attention of scientific associations in various fields of the world, including scientists of engineering
geology. Today, engineering-geological properties of saline soils are being researched in the world,
because the salinity of soils affects their physical and mechanical properties, increasing the
aggressive effect of soils and groundwater on the underground part of buildings and structures.
Today, the study of the effect of salinity on the engineering-geological properties of soils and the
physical-mechanical properties of building materials is carried out by the world's leading scientific
centres. These studies are aimed at increasing the durability and reliability of buildings and
structures built on saline soils
