The study of maqasid al-aqeedah (objectives of creed) is not given the same attention as maqasid al-shariah (objectives of Shariah). Because Shariah consists of practical rulings that cannot be reached at the end, and include continuous and renewed events and phenomena. On the contrary, aqeedah is a set of scientific judgments that do not change according to time and space. There are not as many issues and new cases in aqeedah as in shariah. When we read the books of Imam Maturidi, especially the work “Ta’wilat al-Qur’an”, we come across many new opinions on the objectives of creed. For this reason, in this article, Abu Mansur Maturidi’s skill in clarifying the objectives of the creed, which he used in the places where he interpreted the verses related to the creed, is shown. In the article, the description and analysis methods were used through the commentaries of the scholar on the verses of the Qur’an, as well as investigating some other Maturidian books that indicate the topic of maqasid al-aqeedah. In the article, it was emphasized that in the legacy of the Maturidiyya School of kalam, i.e., in the works of Maturidi scholars, new opinions on the objectives of creed can be found.
