The article describes the characteristics of the process of polymerization of gaseous hydrocarbons into liquid fuels. Intensive development of secondary processes of destructive oil refining led to the appearance of C3-C4 hydrocarbon resources in oil refineries in quantities much larger than could be introduced into motor fuels without exceeding the permissible pressure level of saturated vapors. In this regard, commercially began to use the process of catalytic oligomerization of propylene and butylenes in order to obtain liquid products C6-C15, which could be used as components of high-octane gasoline. In oil refining, this process is called polymerization, and the reaction products are called polymer benzines or polymeric distillates.
