ABOUT JOURNAL

Today, the sustainable development of transport infrastructure and the improvement of the safety, reliability, and efficiency of road transport systems are among the most critical scientific and practical areas on a global scale. Population growth, accelerating urbanization, a sharp increase in traffic flows, and the development of modern logistics systems demand the implementation of new scientific approaches to the design, construction, operation, and management of highways, bridges, overpasses, tunnels, and other transport structures.

In recent years, modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, geographic information systems (GIS), building information modeling (BIM), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and computer vision have become an integral part of transport infrastructure engineering. These technologies create opportunities for real-time monitoring of road network conditions, forecasting traffic flows, assessing the service life of road pavements, monitoring the structural integrity of bridges and tunnels, and enhancing traffic safety.

The "International Journal of Road and Urban Infrastructure Engineering" is an international scientific publication that aims to unite fundamental and applied research in the field of transport and urban infrastructure on a single scholarly platform. The journal serves to present to the wider public contemporary scientific research in areas such as roads, transport structures, urban infrastructure, geotechnics, transport planning, intelligent transport systems, environmental sustainability, and the application of digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies.

The main goal of the journal is to popularize the results of scientific research, promote the implementation of innovative engineering solutions, strengthen the integration of science and industry, and foster international scientific cooperation. The articles published in the journal cover all stages of the transport infrastructure lifecycle—the processes of planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and management.

Special attention is paid to scientific research based on artificial intelligence. The automatic assessment of transport infrastructure condition, malfunction prediction, optimization of traffic flows, and the scientific justification of management decisions using machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, generative artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and intelligent analytics platforms are among the pressing challenges of our time. The journal strives to provide broad coverage of new methodologies, algorithms, and practical solutions being developed in these areas.

Furthermore, the journal supports scientific developments that contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as sustainable cities and communities, industry, innovation and infrastructure, and climate action. Scientific research in the digitalization of modern transport systems, ensuring environmental safety, increasing energy efficiency, and developing "green" infrastructure are among the journal's priority areas.

The journal serves as a contemporary source of scholarly information for the scientific community, faculty members of higher education institutions, researchers, doctoral candidates, master's students, specialists from design organizations, engineers working in road construction and transport, and representatives of government agencies.
