REQUIREMENTS

to articles submitted to the editorial team of the

international scientific journal

“RESEARCH & INNOVATION IN AGRICULTURE”


1. The scope of a scientific article (depending on the type of the scientific article) is 13-35 thousand printed characters (about 7-15 pages); format – A4, orientation – portrait; indents – left 3 cm, right 1.5 cm, top and bottom 2 cm each; font – Times New Roman, colour – black, font size – 14; interval – 1.0.

2. A scientific article submitted to the journal is expected to not have been previously published in other editions, the degree of originality (the presence of plagiarism is checked by means of a special software) is at least 80 %. Self-citation is allowed at least 10% of all sources. Generative AI can be used as an auxiliary tool – exclusively for text editing, grammar checking, data structuring, and translation.

3. The text of a scientific article is formatted as follows

TEXT OF THE ARTICLE


4. Heading is an important part of the article, which should clearly reflect the topic. The heading is not expressed in an abstract or general way, hence it should be written in an academic style and present a proposed solution to the main problem and questions underlying the research topic. The number of words used in the heading of a scientific article should be no more than 10-12, and the number of keywords in the title should be at least 1-2 words. Only commonly used abbreviations are used in the heading.

5. Abstract contains information about the scientific, theoretical and practical aspects of the research topic, i.e. a summary and description of the article.

In terms of its composition, abstract should comprise following:

  1. subject, topic, purpose, relevance and problem of the research;
  2. research method / methodology;
  3. findings;
  4. possible applications of the research findings;
  5. conclusions.

Based on the above information, abstract is written in the form of a single text and is not divided into paragraphs or sections.

The scope of the abstract is about 100-200 words. Use of repetitions, redundant words, detailed descriptions, copying statements from the text of the article, rewriting of exact title, use of abbreviations, references to sources are not allowed.

6. Keywords that make up the semantic core (basis, essence) of a scientific article are a list of important concepts and categories that are considered necessary to describe the topic and the study itself. In practice, these words help to find the article on the Internet. Therefore, when writing a scientific article (articles), special attention is to be paid to the semantic core of the topic.

The number of key words should be within 6-8 words, which are sorted from general to specific, that is, starting with keywords related to the topic and problem, and ending with keywords related to the object and subject of the research. Neologisms, long phrases, related parts of speech are not used as keywords.

7. The text of a scientific article is written according to the following requirements


Introduction

• Rationale for relevance and novelty of the topic;

• description ofthe ways and methods other authors approached to solutions of the problem posed in the article etc. (literature review);

• description of the problems and gaps identified and not explored in the literature used;

• justification of the specific purpose of the study and the problem to be solved based on the identified problems

Materials and methods

• By whom, where and when studies and experiments were made (detailed content);

• methods, methodology and objects of research

Research results

• Analysis of the dynamics of the main indicators characterizing the object of study (within the framework of the data that will become the basis for solving the problem posed in the article) and conclusions;

• retrieved scientific and practical findings, analysis of their effectiveness and reliability

Discussion of research results

• The author analyzes facts, substantiates his opinion, states which of them he approves and which he denies, and explains his views;

• a review of obstacles and problems in the field of science that arose during the study;

• comparison of research findings with the ones from other studies

Conclusions

Conclusions and recommendations arising from the research findings

Acknowledgment

(this is an optional part)

Acknowledgment is expressed to the organization(s)/colleagues who have assisted in implementation of the study or writing the article, as well as to the organization(s) that has/have financed the study/project (project number, name of the organization is written in full)

This section provides information on the use of generative artificial intelligence tools in article preparation. Generative artificial intelligence may be used only as an auxiliary tool (for text editing, grammar checking, data systematization, and translation)

Notice! When interpreting research findings, the use of legislative statements, statistical data, diagrams and graphs on the research subject is highly recommended.

8. Each figure and table are numbered and captioned. Captions must not be part of the figures or tables. Tables and figures are numbered sequentially and referenced in the text. Figures and tables are numbered separately. If there is only one figure or table in an article, no numbers are given. Graphs and diagrams (these are referred to as figures!) must be equally informative in both color and black and white.

The title of a table in the article is centered. The word "Table" is aligned to the right of the page.

The content in the first line (columns, header) is highlighted in bold, the following lines are not highlighted, in normal 10-point font.

The data given in the table should be clear and concise.

9. The editorial team of the journal recommend that authors use up-to-date scientific (!) sources of information (scientific articles, theses from scientific conferences, dissertations, synopsis) published over the past 5-10 years when compiling the lists of reference literature (REFERENCES).

The reference to the source is given in the text in the international citation format APA: in parentheses with indication to the name of the author and year of publication.

FYI: use the link https://apastyle.apa.org/ for the detailed guide on the principles of citation according to APA style.

Example:

An article must contain links up to at least 15 sources

References to foreign editions should make at least 50%.

Scientific sources are better to be mentioned with indication to DOI.

References to official documents are not given in the article, they are provided in the text itself (title, date, number).
