The article discusses the results of scientific research on the technology of manufacturing carbide inserts for the cutting part of the cutters of the type RS-14 tunneling and treatment combines for drilling potash ores, morphology and dimension of powders.
Analysis of the research results showed that the method of producing powders affects the shape and size, as well as the particle size distribution of the powders.
The results of X-ray spectral microanalysis show that in the production of the hard alloy from which the investigated cutter for type RС-14 tunneling and treatment combines for drilling potash ores was made, significant deviations from the manufacturing technology of such products were made. This is reflected in the fact that the composition of the hard alloy powder was heterogeneous. This is evidenced by the presence in the composition of the powder of such elements as oxygen, sodium, silicon, phosphorus and chlorine. These elements got into the composition of the powder due to deficiencies in the enrichment of raw materials.
